UPDATE October 9, 2016: Work has begun to fix the velodrome. The fence in corner 3 has been taken down and saw cuts have been made in some of the panels.
I am sure that most of you have read the newspapers or have seen it on social media, but in case you have not heard, the Washington Park Velodrome has encountered a few problems in the past week. It seems that a hairline crack has developed in corner 3 (South East corner). As of right now this crack covers 10 sections of the velodrome. The City of Kenosha and Rasch Construction are working hard to figure out a solution to this problem.
Because of these recent developments, Kenosha Velodrome Racing, LTD is postponement the Ribbon Cutting ceremony that was planned for Saturday, May 14, 2016. There are hopes that the Ribbon Cutting will take place at a later date.
Furthermore, Kenosha Velodrome Racing, LTD is also postponing the start of the track cycling season. All events are postponed until further notice. Please check our website (kenoshavelodrome.com) or Facebook for updates.
The Washington Park Velodrome is truly a special place and this is due to surrounding community that supports our events at the velodrome. Thank you for the support.
